Our Story
A Woman-Owned Distillery Rooted in Heritage and Crafted with Care
Sometimes, great ideas are born from heartfelt conversations with family and friends over a well-made cocktail. In 2016, during one such conversation, I shared an idea with my husband, Mike:
“What if we started a hobby distilling small-batch spirits?”
After all, my family has grown corn for generations on our Kansas farm—and bourbon and vodka begin with corn. To my surprise, Mike loved the idea.
What started as a simple idea soon became a full-blown passion project. Together, we committed ourselves to a clear vision:
To create a premium portfolio of handcrafted bourbons and vodkas—authentic, natural, and uncompromising in quality.
Only the finest ingredients. No shortcuts. No artificial additives. Just honest craftsmanship and dedication to flavor.
After years of research and development, Carefree Bourbon, Chakra Vodka, and the founding of Carefree Spirits Distillery became a reality. By 2022, our brands had earned over 30 international awards for taste and quality. Today, our spirits are available online in 41 states, with plans to reach all 50 and expand globally.
